Ultracoat ove previously doped surface
« on: November 12, 2009, 08:53:29 AM »
Crunched my old banshee last weekend when a plug failed.  Anyone have any advise on recovering the wing which was Sig dope over coverall with ultracoat.  Will this even work? or will the heat cause the dope to bubble?  Any advise would be appreciated.

John Miller turned me onto a technique for using Monokote on aI beam wings, IN short you dope and silkspan the wing, then cover with monokote ( ultrakote actually works better)
so short answer, Yes you can with no problems typically. I would do some sanding to take off the excess dope though and ensure a smooth surface
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!
