Tips on layout and masking a checkerboard pattern on cowling
« on: October 29, 2008, 09:16:43 AM »
I am planning to add a checkerboard pattern to a P47 type cowl. I have looked at
photos and studied the tapering rows as you wrap around the inlet compound curves.
Can anyone give me some tips to avoid "rookie" problems?

Hi Walt ,

Do a search for "Checkerboard" on this site , as I posted this same question earlier this season (2008) and received some helpful info .

You live near Sparky.  He's really good at it.  I'd see what goods and services it would take to borrow his eye.
