Star & Bar
« on: March 10, 2011, 11:12:58 AM »
Gentlemen,

Getting nearer to finishing my Chas Parrott P-47.  One of the items needed is a pdf file of the US "Star & Bar" National Insignia.

Need the Star & Bar with;
     Blue boarder,
     White star,
     Blue circular background around the star.

Plan to have 5.0 inch dia, a 4.0 inch dia, and a 3.0 inch diameter circular background of the Star & Bar.  So the pdf files needs to be rather large in order to expand.

If you have a pdf file of the Star & Bar, please email or PM me.
My email is correct in my profile.

If you have another idea on this, let me know.

Get out your compass, here is the spec for the insignia. 1- Draw the circle. 2- Mark a point at the top. 3- Set the compass to .59 times the diameter of the circle. 4- Swing the compass from the top point to the sides of the circle, this locates the side points. repeat to set the the two bottom spots. Draw in the star. The white band is even with the top of the side stars, the bottom is 1/2 the radius of the circle below the top. The ends of the band are 1 radius from the edge of the circle. The surrounding blue band can now be drawn in, it's width is 1/8 the radius of the circle. Note: you must start with a circle about 1/4" less than 2.5" for a final 5 inch insignia. And yes, the star is not exactly symmetrical but that is the way it was done.

Michael,

PM me with the details of what you need. I may already have the Stars and Bars drawn and can resize them as needed.

I can also provide paint masks for the Stars and Bars marking if you wish.

Regards,
