Spray or can. Needs to be "hot " fuel proof up to 20% nitro.

In my experience, here is what I can tell you...In a dope / laquer product, dream on. Auto base coat, aint gonna happen. Enamel? forget it.

So... that leaves me reccomending KlassKote Epoxy 2 part paint.

Buy a half pint of the standard black part A, and another half pint of the part B satin hardner instead of the gloss part B, grab 1 qt of their reducer for thinning and cleanup duty,  and you are good to go.

I don't know about dipping it in 20% pure Nitro and letting it sit overnight exactly, but I know it's going to be head and shoulders more fuel proof than anything else on the market in a flat color with no clear top coat. I've used KlassKote colors with YS 20/20 when I ran 4strokes and it was fine for direct contact with raw fuel.

Eric,

Most of the Epoxy that I used both K&B, Petit Hobbypoxy and klassKote are resistant to 70% nitro. It is a non problem.

Hi Frank, If all else fails try adding corn starch to regular black dope! I did this many yaers ago and ended up with a  flat  color of my then choice! Try this on some piece of no account work first!

I've had excellent results with rustoleum gloss and semi gloss black up to 35% nitro. Might be worth the six bucks to buy a can of flat an test it. I've heard rustoleum high temp BBQ paint works but I've not tried it for myself.

I wound up using Rustoleum Flat Black from an 8 ounce can.   Covers great.
Cheap at WalMart and it passed the exhaust residue test and fuel spill(15%) no sweat after a three week dry period. Doubt I'll ever run more nitro  than that in any of  my tether cars.

Thanks to all who gave me input.

One of the major problems with aerosol can paint products is they have no mark resistance properties.

They scratch easily and have no resistance to abuse.
