I have done exactly that with the current finish I am working on.    But I did use the same thinner for both.   No Problem...

I've done exactly what you describe with Randolph thinner throughout. No problems at all. I would expect the same result with Brodak thinner.

Hey Allen, was that Brodak thinner or Randolph thinner?
Neither, I used Finish Pro Slow lacquer thinner which I can get in gallons ($24) at my local auto body supply shop.
I also added about 10% Randolph retarder, but only for the final clear coats.

Hi Paul,

Check Randolph's web page for distributors.  You'll see that Brodak is a distributor for Randolph's  It is the same dope, however Brodak has made more colors than can be obtained from Randolph, in fact, quite a few and has made it all available in smaller quantities.  Randolph's smallest quantity is a quart.

Ya pays yer money and makes yer choices!

Not a problem with either "Brand".

I get Randolph's dope from Aircraft Spruce and Specialty...it's in South Atlanta about 40 minutes from
me...sure beats paying the shipping.  A gallon of clear is like 47 bucks with colors a little more...thinner
is 24 a gallon for either butyrate or nitrate.  Dopes are available in tautening and non-tautening.
