Will this work over the open bays of a wing?
Medium Silkspan- dope- Rustoleum color coat.
I've done this on solid balsa surface before  but never over open bays.

Also.. Is medium silkspan ok for a .15 sized plane or will the fine silkspan work?

I've painted over open bays with Rustoleum on several models without any apparent ill effects.Scour surface with fine Scotchbrite and one dust coat and one flow coat and done. After several years they are still good.

Love that airplane, I learned the pattern on one (much to it's detriment).  Try a maneuver, go home, fix, repeat......
