Plasticizer usage
« on: February 23, 2011, 09:07:02 AM »
Hi Guys,

I'm going to use Randolph dope w/Sig trim colors on my ship. What layers should I add plasticizer to?

1) Randolph Nitrate Non-tautening (clear)
2) Randolph Butyrate Insignia White & Sig colors
3) Randolph Butyrate Non-tautening (clear)

Nitrate to seal the wood, stick on the silkspan & polyspan (wings), then probably more nitrate to fill.

Probably prime with Duplicolor sandable primer grey. Then all butyrate after that.

Thanks
Chris

1) Randolph Nitrate Non-tautening (clear)  not needed here
2) Randolph Butyrate Insignia White & Sig colors  in the Randolph White

HI Chris,

"non tautening" dopes already have plasticizers in them.  Sig colors have plasticizers in them.
