Paint Stand
« on: July 29, 2011, 11:36:40 AM »
Picture of my Pat Johnston Magician after its yellow coat has been sprayed. I got a Park Tool bike repair stand and I'm using it as a paint stand. After using this, don't know how I ever lived without it.

So true about paint stands.  I got mine from the late Jim Tichy at VSC a few years ago.  It is worth every penny I paid for it.  It helps with covering planes also.

I keep learning new uses for it. Never thought about using it when covering. DUH!

I have one of Byron Barkers stand.  It's awesome.  I had it for a while before I got smart and used it, no going back now.

Is that a dope finish all the way through, and if so, how much clear? Not in the substrates, on top. TIA

Wade, the Magician is all silk and dope. I have about 3 coats of Brodak's crystal clear over the colors.

Joe, I found the stand on ebay. Found one that was best offer.
