Nitrate on open bays?

It's been a while since I've covered a model with silkpan.  Back when I did, I used Butyrate exclusively.  I want to try Nitrate, and I've ordered some from Brodaks.  I am pretty sure it's non-taunting.  Can I use this on the open bays of the wing after the silkspan has been applied, or will it not tightend the silkspan enough?

I use nitrate to attach the silkspan, but then a couple coats of tautening butyrate for the sealing and tightening of the paper.  Everything after that is done with non tautening butyrate.

Thanks Bill.  Guess I have to buy some butyrate, and thinner.  I thought the paper would be tight enough after it dried.

I never had a problem with Nitrate shrinking adequately. I'm pretty sure there are low-shrink and high-shrink varieties of both Nitrate and Butyrate, depending on the source.  Be ye careful with Nitrate and a  f~ heatgun in combination.  y1 Steve
