I like the 3m painter's tape. The "orange" (that has orange printing on it) is the really fine line stuff. I use 3M vinyl tape for some stuff but mostly the painter's tape. I tried Frog tape but didn't have as good results.

 Yup, I keep a selection of all of those on hand too and I use them all regularly. I've yet to ever find any 3M product that didn't work well. I decided long ago that 3M must be in direct "cahoots" with AREA 51.
 
 To me, as far as the whole tape thing goes, deciding which one to use just depends what I'm trying to accomplish at that particular time. One thing I really like about yellow Frog Tape is you can see through it if necessary for lining things up. In general, I've also been real happy with the edges it leaves.
