I've seen people using Dupli-Color clear on the forum. Has anyone tried to paint the balsa area of a plane with the rattlecan colors? I've tried a test panel with this stuff, and it seems to go over Miniwax Polycyclic just fine and appears to be fuelproof. In addition Rustoleum also seems to go over the top of this stuff just fine. The question is, how well does this stuff last in everyday use?

I have used Dupi-Color enamel with very good results. No problem with fuel proof issues. But, the available colors are rather limited. So I now use Dupli-Color lacquer spray which is NOT fuel proof. I shoot auto clear (PPG 3-part) over the lacquer for fuel proofing. Both methods work well for me. If color choice is not an issue for you, the enamel will work well.

What Paul said is true. The clear in the quart cans is compatible with dope but it needs a topcoat. Several years ago I used there clear as a topcoat and it seemed fuelproof but the EXHAUST residue began to soften the clear. I but over 100 flights on the plane and then had to refinish it. Many paints are fuel proof but not exhaust proof.
The bearcat is all DupliColor lacquer with a topcoat of spray can auto clear.
