I have seen some very good dope color finishes that were brushed on, not sprayed. For those of you who do this, do you thin the Colored dope and if so, at what ratio?

Well I do mine the way I do clear. Thin it enough that it will brush easily. Then sand between coats and recoat until I think the color is solid enough.
