Bleeding canopy
« on: January 02, 2011, 02:18:43 PM »
Hey all, I just painted around the canopy of my latest and the paint has bled into the masking tape, not to bed but some lines, is there an easy way of removing these?
Thanks

Sand it with 600 to remove it, then clear it with the rest of the plane, the scratches will go away

Next time you could give it a light coat of clear over the tape before you paint ,this way it fills in the little spaces .
It will save you the sanding after painting.  H^^

I use 3M thin Blue tape for edges. I've never had bleeding through this, you do however get bleeding through regualr maskign tape, also hit it with a fine mist coat 1st, let it dry 1 hr, then give it a 2nd light coat, wait for it to dry then hit it with  a solid
