Applying carbon veil - a discovery!
« on: July 18, 2013, 11:07:22 PM »
This evening at Warren Walker's Man Cave, I applied carbon veil to two fuselages. For various reasons, one was done with Nitrate dope, the other with Butyrate.

In my book, Nitrate wins big time! First, it sticks down better, and second it doesn't cause the veil to disintegrate as you work it around corners and edges. You can mold the stuff down with finger pressure and it doesn't shred.

The butyrate job came out OK, but the edges are nowhere nearly as nice and smooth. Filler will fix it, but the Nitrate will require less work.
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!
