John, it is two part polyurethane in a rattle can.  Ok I guess if you don't have any spray equipment.  It has a limited shelf life after it's mixed.  Pretty expensive.

I'm pretty sure the 2k means 2 part or catalyzed, regardless of rattle can or regular through a spraygun.  It is also not exclusive to clear, catalyzed colors would also be 2k.  It is an excellent protective coat, impervious to fuel or most anything else modelers would normally use.  It remains clear and durable with no yellowing for many years as you would expect from something developed for cars.  It does require protective equipment to spray, at the very least, a quality respirator.

2K is short for "2 Komponente", which is German for "2 component".

When you consider the cost of suitable, not top of the line, spray equipment plus the compressor, hose and fittings. Can you say "water trap?"

AND the cost of the paint products, in cans needing a clever mix plus straining. "Filters"

Not to forget the "clean-up" of everything.

So, the price of the 2K aerosol can automotive clear is actually a gift. Toss the can when done.

I always said aerosol cans are the future.
