I got a message from a feller that saw some of my control line videos on You Tube and sent along this blog of some rc flyers breaking out some control line. Even a few old re-treads getting back in.......http://www.flyboyzblog.com/control-line-flying-at-the-stars-field/
Seems encouraging. Wish there were more flying fields that shared the flying disciplines.

You can include Manatee Countee (Florida) Radio Controllers in your list.

I think the Knorthern Knights of KCMo still have the circle I used to use.   Also the KCRC group, one of the oldest rc clubs has an area  for cL.

    • Our Local CL Web Page
Millington Barnstormers allow anything that flys at our field.

Shug be sure to point them to this site if they have not found it already.

Arvada Associated Modelers (Colorado) have two rc runways, several heli pads, a dirt car track and a control line circle.

  • The physics of flight releases the soul.
We started flying C/L on a regular basis around twelve years ago at Makepeace Field, the Model Aviators of South Arkansas. (MASA) We host two C/L contests a year. Recently we have been getting more and more "cross-overs."  H^^

The Smoky Hill Model Flying club of Salina Kansas is mostly R/C, but we do have a control line circle that is used by 4 of us. Since I do fly a little R/C the club asked me when they put in the field if I would like a control line circle. At that time I was the only one but told them it would be nice. They put in a concrete takeoff pad and a concrete pad in the middle of the circle for the pilot, and we have a nice buffalo grass circle. The club has a well and an irrigation pump to water the field. All in all they are all a great bunch of guys and most of the newer R/C bunch had never seen a control line model fly before. Always fun to watch them when they see their first wingover.

It use to be that model clubs had both years ago, but then the R/C clubs became exclusive. Now I see the trend going back to including control line again as most clubs, at least the smaller ones, like as many members as they can get.

So far the report is the RCers just don't get control line. We will prevail.

Wow...enjoy that. Sounds fantastic.

Hoping to get some RC Officials at local fieldes to understand the crossover concept!

You are one lucky feller. Some feilds are very territorial but combining the dicsiplines just seems smart.
