Winter Time

It has been awhile since we have had what I would call winter.  Last year I think we had one snow storm and it wasn't enough to close the schools.   The weather man/woman scared the school districts into closing two days.  Neither one was as bad as today.  But, this is what I woke up to this morning and what I seen out the windshield once I got in the car.  Had to go thru passenger door to get it started.  Still had a little trouble getting drivers door open.  Couldn't get over the console from passenger side.

Looked about the same out in Olathe yesterday too.  Not much fun.  Cleaned my basement and put a couple more coats of clear on my Super Clown.

Yep, it was pretty nice last weekend. Low 50s and clear. Not much wind. Just a bit to blow out your wake turbulence. That's all going away tomorrow as another storm blows through. Predicted to have pretty high winds, but we'll see.

    Doc, I live on SOUTH Louisiana and we have had 3, countum 3 Sneaux day's down here,and the school's were closed, usually we close the school's for Hurricanes, not SNEAUX.

Hey Doc,
The snow looks bad, the plane looks good. I had a few days where I thought I would break the door handle getting in my truck. Just get a glass of tap water and pour it around the top of the door. Opened right up for me.

And my wife would never in a million years build a plane in our bedroom. 
But the plane looks good!

2+ hours north of ya and the prediction for tonight/tomorrow is sleet and snow!

2 weeks ago Alexandria was invaded by sneaux guys.
Well actually I am about 15min above the line where it sneaux turns to snow.

  David, Tom is flying an arf Smoothie I believe, he came over on day last year when a couple of us were out flying and he was asking questions about what to do for the Stuka, but I don't know what he has gotten done.
  This year the contest dates are 15 16 17 Oct with the 15th being a day that some of the guy's come in to fly and visit.
  Will keep y'all updated with more info...

today's snow is no longer winter snow here in Michigan. The local Dairey Queen opened last week! Its a Spring snow!

Neville,  yes it is the Morley "Thunderbolt" short kit I got off the bay.

Bob,  I could have cut the hingess a little narrower so there would have been more.

Paul, the last time I used tap water on a car door the glass cracked.  The temps were in the low single digits here.  Today it is in the 20's during duty.

Is it a good short kit Doc? good quality wood etc.? what are you going to power it with?

I thought it a good short kit.  Got full size plans(folded), landing gear, ribs, formers, wing tips, rudder and landing gear already formed.  To me it was worth the money.  This way I could pick my own sheet wood as well as spars.  It also makes for very compact kit for shipping.  Box is about 1 1/2 X 12 X 12 inches.  Or do you want the metrix measure?   If you need a contact PM me or look on the English bay site.
