Bucket List
« on: April 08, 2014, 05:02:47 AM »
Here's part of my Bucket List for building:

1.  P-51D Rabe Mustang
2.  P-47 Geo Bolt, Billy's Razorback P-47
3.  Classic,  Randy Smith design
4.  F-14 Tom Cat II, Vic Macaluso (was going to be the Crusader II but I got a                                                 fully sheeted SV 11 wing with spars)
5.  P-47 "Saito 72" from Pat Johnston, designed for the Brazilians
6.  F-4-F Wildcat designed by Pat Johnston for me in a ".51" size.
7.  F-86 Sabre, Bob Lampione-1969 Walker Trophy Winner
8.  Formula S, Jim Kostecky
9.  Genesis Mk III, Bob Hunt. 1978 World Champion plane
10. Stiletto 660, Les McDonald- World Champion plane

These are my 10 "really really want to build".  What are some of yours?  ;D

1) Perky (under construction)
2) Magician 35 (under construction)
3) Black Tiger  (kit on the shelf)
4) Super Clown (under construction)
5) Sig Twister (kit on the shelf)
6) Sig Banshee (kit on the shelf)
7) Sig Skyray 35 (kit on the shelf)
8) Sig Akromaster (kit on the shelf)
9) TF Flite Streak (kit on the shelf)
10) Foamy SL Combat planes (4 wing cores on the shelf)
11) Li'l Jumpin' Bean (kit on the shelf)
12) 1/2A Scientific P-40  (kit on the shelf)
13) Sig Mustang Stunter (if I get around to it)

These represent my backlog, and are pretty much in order of priority, although that is flexible. Some of the kits will duplicate planes I built in my youth. Once these are done, I'll be old enough to know what I want to fly when I grow up.

Wow Bill,  great topic!

Not sure the exact order since events could control it but:

Just started my Sterling Spitfire kit.
Veco Squaw
Floyd Carter Wildman 60
Argus
Veco Hurricane kit
Music for N30
Spacehound
Super master
A Wedell Williams semi-scale for Open/f2b
Skylark kit
Warburton Tony
Ambroid Ares kit.
Jetco Dolfin kit
Shark 45
A Yak 50 semi- scale for Open/f2b.
Another sparker of some sort
A Barnstormer squeezed in someplace
Green box Nobler kit

Dave

Then a breath and a new list

Maybe add another.  Might get a Ruffy kit soon.  If so I'll build it just like the one I flew in junior stunt at the 1970 Nats made in the Navy jet theme with a forward canopy and under slung 'jet engine' / wheel pants.  Should be still classic legal and I'll vouch for it!  Built it the winter of 69.

If World Peace somehow became a reality...Or a winning lottery ticket,  here's what I would build, in order:

CL
    Brodak Flite Streak/ Fox 35
Another Cal Smith "Frisky Pete" Fox29
    Lew McFarland "Akromaster"/ ST 51
"Great White" SV11 bashed to look like a Shark45
    Joe Dill Chipmunk
    ME109 "Mister Schmitt" based around a P-Force wing and numbers/Magnum 36
    Profile B-17/ 4x Norvel 061s
    Profile B-25/ 2x Norvel 049s

FF
6 "Thermic XL" discus HLG (currently under development, wouldn't be for long if I had time)
    3 Elipsix CLG
    E-Pearl E-36 entry
    "Prarie Bird"
    P-30 entry
SE-5 for WWI Rubber Mass Launch
F4F Wildcat for WWII Rubber Mass Launch
Art Chester "Jeep" for Golden Age Rubber Mass Launch

In addition, build some type of RC powered glider and equip with a moveable camera for finding FF models lost in fields and rescuing models with DT failures from thermals.

And people would get TIRED of seeing my face at contests!

Lots of great ideas....write your congressional representative and make it a reality!

My self I don't make a list.   I am usually working on something or repairing something.   Then I see a kit or plan and then the cutting/building starts on that one.   This year I have finished a Bi-Slob,  S-1 Ringmaster( scratch build), repaired an S-1,  working on Ringmaster Imperial,   got the King Sweep flying after removing warp,  got a kit from Brazil and finally working on a Super Ringmaster using Baxter's plans.   Need to get engine back on the Primary Force and most of all I need to get some runs on some engines.  Have planes that have not been in the air yet like the Renegade with Greenhead K&B .35 and a Manx Cat.   And ther are others that don't come to mind right now.

Mine's pretty a pretty short list:

1. Al Rabe Bearcat
2. Belfrey Bound
3. Biceps (a big, stuntable biplane that has about a million wing ribs)

Not sure that I'll get to any of them.  I've just barely started a Strega kit that I've had around for years.  But I can always dream.

Finally getting near finished on the Smoothie I bought here in the classified, been at this for nearly a year. This will have a L & J Fox 35. I get side tracked a lot. Next one I'm really looking forward to, the FANFARE which was the latest stunter designed by the late and great Allen Brickhaus.  This will be LA 46 powered and is flapless. The design was intended to be a good intermediate airplane.

Building a Box Car Chief. I will see where the inspiration leads me when it is done. When I was younger I use to put a dollars worth of gas in my car cause I did not know how long it was going to last and did not want to waste the gas. Now I do not plan to far ahead in case I run out of gas.
