Has anyone been in touch with windy ?  Has anyone tried to get him back in the circle and away from the bikes. Miss his videos.

I am in touch with him everyday. He plays with his grandson and restores motorcycles. That is what he used to do before he got into model airplanes. He is also undergoing medical procedures to restore his health. Hey, after 20 top 5 places at the Nat's and the AMA Hall of Fame,he deserves a rest.

Thanks for update   Haven't talked to him in long time retired from fire service   Have plenty of time to devote to hobby now.   Had a chance to go to his home years ago with Doug cook.  Back when he was helping mat grifford.
Hope is health gets better.  Let him know I said hello

Hi, Milton.
What health issues are bothering Windy?
I haven't seen or heard from him in around two years.

Windy always made beautiful airplanes.  There was always anticipation in going to Brodaks and seeing Windy's latest build.  Plus, his videos contained a lot of good building how-to's (you just had to fast-forward through the parts where you got to watch him sand for 10 minutes.... ;D)

It was great catching Windy when he was relaxing or not busy.   Some stories he could tell of past NATS and local meets could fill several books.   I have never got too really know the man and he did build some beautiful airplanes.  But, now he can enjoy the grandchild.   Never know there may be a champion in the making there.

Windy's Grandson is totally taken with Windy's trains. He just loves to play with Windy and the trainset. Of course, I am hoping he'll start to notice all the pretty planes in the house too!!

Nothing like getting priorities straight.   Watching him feed the grandson made me think back when I would get home from work.   Fix a bowl of cereal before going to bed and number one granddaughter sharing the cereal with me.  Now she is a working girl with her own car.  If you see Windy tell him the old DOC Holliday says hi.
