Whats my motive?
« on: April 07, 2006, 05:46:25 PM »
There are no more shirts for sale. It was a after thought to give the "FULL DEAL" to those who bought a shirt.

"THE POLL"If they wish to put a poll on the other sites thats fine. It was just a sampling to see where the users of this forum stood. Because if it was not worth the trouble I would just shut it down. This and the SN takes up allot of my building time. Even though I have been sick lately, starting to feel better.

I did not get rich on this heck I didn't even break even. I just did it to see if I could do it. I see now that I can. I just hope it helps someone some where. I got an email a long time ago that went something like this. "I am glad to see your posts. As a boy I did not have anyone around to show me world class building. So the exposure to it is great. Thanks."

One of the best complements last year came from Bob Hunt. (Now remember it was only at the 04 worlds I took the P-47 pictures.) While holding my 17 point airplane Bob said" Gary you cant tell whether this came off Billy's bench or not." That was kool to be in that class.

Something along those lines. Thats what drives me! Helping people build lighter, straighter, shiner, prettier airplanes.

Robert,

I may one of those that does not put forth the effort the way that you and others do, however I believe that the inception of this forum was a windfall for those of us who wanted a place to enjoy fellowship and along the way learn about methods and what others use to help in their construction efforts.  I was impressed by the zero tolerance for those who wished to behave in a negative way.  I enjoy my time on this forum.  I feel that those who post here are of the same mind and the give and take in good humor is a treat.  I don't really know what I would do if this site were to close and my mighty Smoter was laid to rest.  Perhaps the rest of the membership needs to comment as well.  If it takes dues to help support this forum, lets put that out there and see what all members think.  Me personally, I think we oughtta charge 'ol Bill Little something for having all those handsome stars.

I am grateful for being able to enjoy the fruits of you hard work and again, Thank You.

Robert,

I commented in another thread how I feel about this forum.  My comments are sincere and I dont think I can say it any better.  So, I'll quote myslef here.....

"I can honestly say that the Stunt Hanger has been very impressive to me for the following reasons:

1.  Little if any bickering and politics.

2.  The Forum owner is taking the time to share his knowledge and expertice by conducting a Building Class.  The other sites have not done this.

3.  I had only been registered on this forum for 2 days when Bill Little contacted me and offered his assistance (we live about 25 miles apart).  And, when I told him I didnt have a plane yet he offered one of his.

These reasons indicate to me what the focus of this Forum really is...sharing and learning.  No one from any other site has contacted me to offer anything.  I have made other friends here too.  Leester and I are the same age and he lives in my hometown.  He has offered me a great deal of advice and I consider him a friend.  I hope to meet him the next time I visit my family in IL.

Yeah...this is a great forum.  You're doing here what the others seem to only talk about and I thank you all for it."

I'm starting over again in Control Line, so I don' have the background and knowledge of others...is there a problem?  is there something I can do to help?

I truly believe that most everyone here is of the helpful sort.  And, most everyone I've met through CLPA has been that way.  This forum, when Sparky first mentioned it to me seemed like the best idea yet.  Just airplanes, and fellowship.   Someting I feel we all really want.

That Robert took the task upon himself, and shelled out the funds to get this thing going, I greatly appluad him!

If I may say so, Robert:  This is going to take a *little* bit more time to become what we all want it to become than it does for you to build a (actually two) 17 point NATS Thunderbolts!  We can't build this as fast as you can build a great stunt ship.  ;D

I think I'll just jump on the bandwagon ..............I've enjoyed myself over here a lot. It's nice to be able to post and not worry about some internet thug lighting into me.
The Hangar is the closest experience to being at the circle that the internet has to offer.

Robert:

While I may not post very often, I do look at this forum daily (or several times a day).  It is by far the best forum going.  The lack of finger pointing and politics is refreshing to say the least.

I have gained a lot of very useful building info form this site and particulary from your tips and techniques and I need all the help I can get.

I sincerely hope that you keep this fourm going.  Keep the good info coming!!!
