I will say this here too. Unless someone intentionally did this to you, a non member can not see your email address on this site. Heck you can't even see the board unless you register. So my guess would be somewhere else!  %^

I know that there is some type of virus (??) that sends email and randomly picks an email address from that person's address book to use as the "sender".  Or something like that.  It never comes from the person who sent it, it is some trait of the virus (worm?)  Geez, I only know enough about a computer to be totally STUPID when it comes to these machines!  But I have read on different forums of that occurance.

I'm sure that someone here knows more about this.

I have had that happen to me several times now.  In fact some idiot still hasn't learned that E-Bay is closing down on him/her.  Now that I know the secret of verifying if it is legit or not.  DOC Holliday

Public Service Announcements

If you suspect a virus there is an easy way to check your machine - go to www.antivirus.com (this is a legitimate site run by one of the top antivirus vendors) and click on free tools.  Follow the directions to use the free on-line scanner - it doesn't require you to buy anything.

Spyware and adware can be picked up on lots of websites and many times these programs can do as much mischief as viruses.  A good program to use to get rid of these is Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4.  You can get it at download.com.  Be careful, there are lots of these programs that use the terms "spybot" and "search and destroy" but not the complete name "Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4".  Download and install this program and then run it.  It will walk you through the steps to update it and search the computer for spyware and get rid of it.

Hope this helps those having problems caused by the evil programmers out there.

Thanks,
