Using the features of this forum

There are many cool features that are being missed. You can ignore a particular user by going to their profile and choose ignore function. Or if you think a member has something to offer you can click on their name and on the left you will see a box like this.
Profile Info
Summary
Show Stats
Show Posts
Track User
Track IP
Show Permissions

Click the show posts link and see what that person has contributed to this forum in all the time they have been here.
Use the search box while in that section to see if that person has posted any info directly related to what you are looking for. So if your looking for a building or motor or engine tip. Pick the person you wish to follow and search their posts. If you looking for how to do hard nose construction you would not want to follow a person who's posting the latest sandwich at MC Donald's. you get the drift.

I am not sure why this forum has taken a coarse off its intended path but unlike herding CATS I will steer it back on line.

Hi Robert,

It would be great to be able to ignore a thread, so that it would be hidden from my view. There are some really stupid threads that I would like to block from my view and never have to see again.

Thanks
Chris

Myself, I just ignore the ones I don't to see.   In fact some of the forum I have yet to look at.  H^^

Unfortunately sometimes curiosity gets the better of me. I see a thread, decide it is a waste of time. Then I see it keep popping up to the top and it is like 5 pages long. I can't help but have a look and see what all the fuss is about. It would be best to hide it!!

I tried that and didn't see any ignore button.

Can't find that, either.

You know the line at the upper part of each page in which you can click on the "go down" icon.   Same line only on right side of page.

My USENET reader has a killfile feature that lets me ignore a thread or author.  If you really get bent out of shape with someone or some topic it's a handy feature.

I find it's just easiest to click the "list unread topics", scan the titles, then when I'm done responding to the interesting ones, click the "mark all messages read" button.
