MDS Engines

My Ex son-in law gave me a "NIB" MDS 40 R/C engine. I've been searching the "net" and thumbing thru all my model books and I can't find out who distributes these engines. It is a BB engine and looks nice (Except that it is heavvvvy, but not for an R/C engine)
What I want to know is: How much is it worth?

I had one of those that I flew in RC for a long time.  It was very friendly as far as starting and setting.  Ran 10% Cool Power, pink fuel.   Prop was a Master Airscrew 11-5 prop.   Lost count of how many hours I had on that engine and was still running strong when I let it go.

MDS were distributed by Horizon in the 1990s and early 2000s. They were solid, reliable
engines. Not great, not bad.

Had an MDS 60 I flew in RC. Royal pain in the &. Got rid of it for a ST 75 square head RC. Man what a difference!! Still have the ST 75.

Milton, Sorry to hear you had bad luck with your 60, but this is a 40...........And hopefully a better engine.

Not a 40 or a 60, but my son picked up a second hand MDS 78 which of course I put on the test stand to see how well it ran. On zero nitro fuel it started first flick every time, idled at 1400 revs and at full revs actually slightly out turned his Enya 80X. I was impressed.
