I put this together for some of my YouTube subscribers that are curious about this hobby and have no idea what it is or even how the planes are controlled from lines. I thought everyone had seen CL at some point in their life but live and learn. Hope this answers some of their queries. My next one will show 1/2As and maybe how to get started.
Just trying to show some highlights and set the hook. When drones are grounded our CL hobby will grow exponentially.......... :D
Shug

This is the new updated video with suggestions from some of you all on it...thankee!

Great introduction for those who might be interested.  Only other thing you might have mentioned is that there is no throttle control like in RC, and the fact that you fly till the fuel runs out.  Typical question I get when a newcomer shows up at field while I'm flying is "How do you make it land".

That style of stooge will save me from having to figure a tail hook of some type for the stooge I have.  I bet I can make it so it suits my wheeled 1/2a stuff also.

I got the arf flite streak, engine, and fuel tank sitting here, and haven't even looked at it since picking it up.  I hope to get to my own efforts soon.  You set a high bar with a well done video.

Shug,

Great video. For some reason you remind me of Jerry Reed (That's a good thing)

Anyway, keep at it! Your personality, humor and mannerisms are bound to attract new flyers.

Your O.S. Pulls very well even when it doesn't break out of 4. Impressive.

I just did the final so I have 22,000 subscribers so that is a start. Hope folks will forward it and put it on social media and maybe RC club websites. Maybe we can draw a few to the fold.....

I re-did the video and added in some of the suggestions I got on here like close up of bell cranks and pushrods, talk about how it runs until out of fuel and landing. More on handles and lines a bit.
As much as I know anyways.
This video is aimed at those who are curious but no nothing about what we do or how we fly them. Maybe a pert 2 in the future expelling the styles and more on all those concourse finish planes.  And famous fliers.

Very nice job on the video, Mr. Shug! I am curious about your comment about your real job starting soon.  ???
With the balancing the plane on your beak, I was thinkin' you're leaving with the Circus again? Are you good on a unicycle? I always wanted one...

One thing heard in our club is "Don't you guys ever fly for fun?", referring to us contest fliers. This comment makes no sense to many of us. It seems like everybody should want to build better airplanes, trim them to fly better, and learn to fly them better, at very least because they will last longer!

I am glad to see that you are accepting of new ideas and trying to improve your models and skills. If you could push that idea in your next videos, that would be very cool. You touched on the "learning" very lightly, and I think that should also be pushed. Lots of the stuff we learn applies to math and science knowledge, but also reading, writing, and artistic skills like graphics and color combinations. The hobby has made huge influences on the careers of many of us...me, for sure. :D  Steve

I switched back to control line because I only have to walk 60 feet to pick up the pieces.
Maybe go easier on the crashing part? With an instructor crashing can be lessened during the learning process.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

Great videos Shug!

I personally like the Karl Childers one the best! Rock on man!  ;D

Me and done made friends...I reckon.

Wow, Shug! This is one of the many topics I've missed out on while taking a couple of weeks away to devote to my surf fishing hobby. Since everyone has already said what I think and more, I'll just say thanks. You are bringing our hobby an enthusiasm that can't help but spread excitement and interest. Good work.
Rusty
I must say that you bring that enthusiasm too!
Thankee.

Shug,
 Great Video. Thanks
I appreciate it and have fun doing it.

Shrug, well done putting together an information and fun video. Producing such a video is a labour of love or nostalgia :)

Novice control line people will get a good grounding on the basics of what our enjoyable hobby is all about.

Keep your arm straight!

Az
I aim to keep trying to get better and thankee.

I have added it to our club's Web site, and suggest you add it to the control line wikipeda page.

Nicely done!

Great presentation, Shug!   H^^

If you are willing, can I get a copy to run on a computer at our Knights of the Round Circle booth at the AMA Expo next January? It is exactly what we need!  :D
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!
