Flight log book.
« on: September 17, 2022, 06:45:09 PM »
I have never been one to keep very good records from one flying session to another, so I thought this would help.
They are 50 pages printed both sides, Mike Alurac from the club printed 15 copies for me so I have enough for 13
of my closest friends.

Good way to keep track of what works.

There is a app for this.

It’s called RC Flight Log.

Works well for CL models. I have even swapped emails with the developer and he is very helpful.
It’s free.

Even has a place for battery info.

I did add my nitro motors just for notes. 😝

That's actually pretty slick. I'm not a very good record keeper but would prefer paper and pencil to electronic devices. Keep the book in your flight box where it is needed. If your phone crashes or the data doesn't transfer when you get a new phone, all is lost. I have bought several small note books with the intent of getting into the habit of keeping track of things, but don't ask me where they are!! I think Jim Lee has a three ring binder, or maybe several of them this far down the line!!

You can back the data up to Dropbox. So it’s not lost. 😝

Pretty slick for sure...my old flying buddy Warren Wagner suggested several years back to begin keeping manual records after each flight. I created a note book with a page for each model. Opening with the design parameters, weight, wing loading, CG, tip weight, line spacing and prop size followed with a dated line entry of each flight recording the lap and flight time, fuel and comments about the flight for me is an essential part of trimming out a plane. I guess though if you fly the same plane all the time a good memory will suffice but when you bring several planes to field and have a questionable memory as I do a little record keeping makes more sense.

When I read your post I remembered years ago people would come up to me at a contest and say "so you are
Warren Wagner I read something about you in stunt news" and I would say sorry that's someone else. I never had
the pleasure of meeting the man.
