Bill I did not have a particular one in mind at this time. I just wanted to see what they offered in their line. Probably it would be something equal to what a OS LA .46 would pull. What Enya engine would that be? I am not familiar with their nomenclature...
Thanks
Mike
A couple of folks here in Tucson (me included) have the newer .50's and they are excellent. They're a little heavier than an OS 46LA but significantly more powerful also.
They also have a old school 45 that has an excellent reputation but I have no personal experience with it.
I also have one of the side exhaust CRX61's and it's a real power house that gives a good 2 X 4 stunt run or will run in a fast 4 or slow 2 with lower pitch props. I've seen two of the new rear exhaust 61's run and both were very impressive on pipes...I'm always surprised that the Enyas are not more popular than they seem to be. Especially now that PA's are becoming Unobtanium.
The Enyas are significantly less money than a RO Jett or PA and run very well. They are of course significantly heavier than the RO Jetts but usually that proves to be far less of a problem than a lot of folks think it should be. In my opinion the most important thing for a stunt engine is that it be friendly and controllable, and that it provides the necessary regulation to maintain a consistent speed in maneuvers and not "unload" too much in windy conditions (wind up is troublesome).
One thing about the Enya's that seems to be universal with them is that they all require a long break in term...I think a couple of gallons of fuel or more in some cases. My 60 took a gallon and a half of fuel on the bench before it would hold a consistent needle setting through a whole tank. That could account for some of the lack of popularity.
However at least anecdotally, they last forever!
