Charley O Finnly had a policy that school kid could ride the bus free and for a buck watch an A's game...unfortunately Vida Blue no hitters were a boring spectacle for me
Radier's at the time were kicking ass every year...smash mouth and cheating (not in my mind) I was a true raider Nation nut case...still am
San Fran 49s were a force also but I got jazzed mostly on Montana and Rice...too much fun to watch
As west coast kid I love the Sea Hawks expansion

There is so much I love about California... Sister has her own Winery in Gillroy and is doing well with the Bed N breakfast and sales
Gun laws, politics, cost of living, taxes, and insane traffic are real big and serious negatives

In high school 1969~1973 I knew or saw: Timothy leery, Patty Hurst, Anglia Davis, and delivered the Oakland Tribune to Huey Newton at 1500 lake Shore drive Penthouse....
Until I got thrown out* of the seminary type college prep school ---Saint Mary's In Berkeley (Jesuit education) I was not terribly exposed to the insane socialists in the public school system... the final year at Oakland High... the only faculty that was NOT a Communist was our ROTC instructor
In HS I took a few AP classes at Berkeley... every professor was a self proclaimed socialist...fact
* discovered girls(sex) , dope, alcohol and managed a dismal 0.0 GPA one semester... my bad
