Toledo RC Expo
« on: April 05, 2014, 03:45:58 PM »
Just arrived home from the Toledo Show.   A lot more empty booths and tables than ever.  Over all we had a  good time seeing some old friends and new product.
Picked  up my fuel order from Ritch's Brew.  And a few other things to keep me in planes for the year.
Stopped by the Brodak booth to check out the new Arf Ringmaster and see John and the guy.
For the first time Sig was selling kits.  They had the Twister and Skyray on display.  When I asked about the Banshee they informed me that it was discontinued.  I was in shock.  They explained that they were only selling a few kits a year and it didn't justify continuing making them.  I thought the Banshee was more popular that the Twister but I was wrong.   Sad to see it gone from the lineup.  The Chipmunk was not there but still being made.  One less choice available to us guys.

A Banshee was my favorite plane as a teenager (1975 or so). Sad to see it discontinued, but I have a kit on the shelf. Guess I better make patterns and keep the plans!

According to Sig's website, almost the entire line of CL kits is discontinued.  I guess the 1/2a Skyray and Staggerwing Beech are the hot sellers.
