  When you are done playin around with that Delrin and Aluminum you have now and wish to move up a notch to bigger stull I will send you a piece of this. 5.25 diameter X 24.00 long 7075 T3 Aluminun. It may take you a few days to turn the OD to size but you will get plenty of Lathe hands on experience.

T-3 is the state of hardness of the metal. -0 is soft, T-4 is solution heat treated, T-3 is solution heat treated and cold worked. 7075 is usually T-6.

You can laff, but I used some of that stuff to turn fancy waterpump pulleys for my flathead Ford.

  That might be a cool project except the completed engine weighs in at 18.75 lbs. Wing loading would be a problem for sure, then there is the arm loading.

The amazing thing is that you can legally build and fly that engine on a model over 55 lbs with waiver and even compete with it . Some of the IMAC models are up to 30 inch props. That is ulltra light sized for sure
Basically the 18 cylinder would be cool on a model of the corsair that They did install one on for evaluation.
If you build it I'll pit for you. H++l I'll even hand prop it for you.

G-Man,
I have not had a chance to get over to my dad's house. It will take me a few hours to figure out just what I need to do. I need to figure out how big to drill the holes for the venturi's and it will take the better part of a day to get everything gathered and setup.
Ryan came home this weekend, and next weekend we have plans, then the next weekend I will be driving back from some place in PA.

Seems like that would make a venturi for you BA RM?

 I have to get all the irons out of the fire before I can start this project. I can't jump from one to another. As you know it will take about 2500 hrs. to complete. 1 yr. at 40 hrs./wk - 2080 hrs. I'm 64 and no way can I stand in front of a lathe or milling machine for 8 hrs. a day anymore.  It will get done however long it takes. This is my last big project.
