The Talon is back (pics)
« on: August 20, 2007, 02:33:11 PM »
A while ago I posted pics of my kit bashed Vector that I made into the T-38 Talon - I was going to do it in camo, but got to the paint stage and had issues (which I wont go into here) so anyways - I stripped the covering off (as it was film) and put it on the "i'll get to it pile"

Anyways, the wife went away in the weekend and I made it a personal mission to recover it - not so easy to apply film to an already assembled model - especially the fuse  - but I got there in the end - still have more panel lines to go and some more trim - (yes it will have USAF and airforce decals)

But here it is........

I was wondering what happened to that one.  Looking good.
I turned my Talon into a kit.   :-\
I hope yours lasts longer than mine did.

Bingo!

I just asked about that in your last post on your Vector.

Another Nice one Wynn.

I sure hated to hear and see Chris put his in.  I bet it could be fixed, but he has all winter to build a new one.

thanks guys - still have a bit to do to it - going to put scale struts on it and complete the scheme - have a lot of lines to re-do kind of rushed some of them and they are not straight etc......

How do you keep the panel lines fuel proof?
Do you spray the film with clear?
Looks like something I might try some day.

Hey Chris,
Yeah I spray clear over the panel lines - seems to work OK.

Hi Dwayne,

I REALLY like the "retro" look, similar to the *Talon* (Kostecky, I-beam '65), NOVI and USA-1, that you gave it. y1

I remember this one!  Good to see it getting finished.  Nice job, and it will fly great!  (after all, it's a Vector! y1 )
