The Ringmaster Romeos
« on: March 09, 2016, 12:16:02 PM »
Our club in New Orleans has always been known as the Ringmasters Flying Club.  Not too long ago I thought it might be fun to start a club within a club called the Ringmaster Romeos primarily because we have some club members who do not fly and cannot always make it to the field on the days we fly.   ROMEO stands for Retired Old Men Eating Out.  Today we met for the first time at the Piccadilly Cafeteria and for and hour and a half we enjoyed some really good food and solved most of the problems in the world.  We have decided we should do this every month so I guess a club within a club has been born...we did not make being retired a prerequisite  for membership but most of us are.   The mission statement of the Ringmaster Romeos is to eat well and enjoy the fellowship....that is all.

Which Piccadilly's?
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

Perry it is the one on Jefferson Hwy right as you get off Causeway, take a left and head toward Ochsner Medical Center and it is a couple of blocks down on the left...

How about a conference call meeting to the Piccadilly's on South Range in Denham Springs.

We have a no club motorcycle club in Kansas called the ROMEO's. Retired Old Motorcyclists Eating Out. They pick a resturant every Wednesday and a time to be there, and we all meet up. Sometimes the rides are only 40 or 50 miles, and other times well over a 100 for me. We just go when we want. We have no rules and no dues. My kind of club. We usually have between 30 to 50 show up at a small town resturant that has been called ahead of time. They are always glad to see us to boost their economy. We get to tell lies about how it use to be.

There's a R.O.M.E.O. group that currently meets in the Denny's in Kent, WA every Friday AM. Mostly NW Skyraiders and SAM-8 members. This has been happening since back in the '90's or before. I used to go, but can only stand eating at Denny's once a month (our NW Skyraiders meetings are currently there).  :P Steve
