  To Everyone Crazy enough to follow this "Riddle"

        It will take much to long to complete this one "CLUE" at a time. So let's just fill in the blanks OK? Here goes:

T h e  "Ringmaster  1000"----68"  Wing Span----1000 sq in Wing Area

40" Length----27 1/2" Stab Span---- Fox .78 Power----70-75 oz

LETTERS"

NUMBERS:

   Now you can print it out if you wish, all you have to do is fill in the blanks with the given numbers and letters. Have fun all you problem solvers. From time to time during the day I will fill in a blank. If nobody has come up with the answer by 6:00 PM tomorrow night I will give you the answer. Hint: It is experimental, it hasen't been tried yet that we know of.

  Some of you are following this, some are not. Some are having fun, some probably think it is uncalled for. Either way it is done for enjoyment and a way to introduce you to something. This will be done later. The above is solveable I made sure this morning. I hope someone does. See you later.

Here is the scoop;

  I know I am supposed to end this at 6:00 PM today and it is after that now, but there is a problem, no I DID NOT FORGET THE ANSWER. Leo Mehl has not logged on yet and I will not end it till he does. You have a little more time, we are going into overtime. It is sudden death overtime, as soon as Leo logs on it is over. If you get the answer post it. See you later.

When researching the service history of my (full scale) 1943 Taylorcraft L-2M spotter plane, I learned that during WWII there were experiments aimed at getting small planes out of fields they could land in but were too short to take off from (easy to do, don't ask how I know). One "solution" actually put into practice was to THETHER one wingtip to a large fixed object with a line (don't recall the length but would have to be 200 feet or so) and fly the airplane around the pylon till flying speed was reached (about 50-60 mph) then release the cable attachment. I wouldn't care to try this myself, but they did lots of screwy things during the war. Actually this is about the speed our models fly at, so it is not inherently a crazy idea. The L-2 has deployable slats behind the LE on the top of the wing that allow it to be dropped into very short fields, by killing the lift on about 6 feet of span at the wing roots.

HERE IS THE LARGEST OLD PLANE THAT I COULD FIND!

I have one of those in the basement waiting for some more silkspan and dope to stiffen up the wings.  The first flight on it once it got up to speed it disappeared in flutter mode.  The only way to deep it from fluttering was to keep doing loops and 8's.  Also keeping lap times to 5.4 or more helped also.  DOC Holliday

After I restored the Sweeper (2nd version), I brought it out to Brodak's to play.

Here is a shot of John's grandson holding it.   ~^ ~^
