Thread article ordering.
« on: November 09, 2017, 02:39:49 AM »
Hi - couldn't find a suitable place for this ........ so its here!

Is there any way of re-ordering how replies to threads are arranged? Obviously if you are a super regular user you only need to read the latest reply at the top...... but if its popular and lots of replies you have to scroll down and then read upwards, whilst reading downwards! Its not natural ! Pretty much all the forums I visit have the first reply at to of page one and then descend downward till latest is at bottom of last page - this site is a paradox and as a returner after 40 years i've a lot of catch up reading to do! I have looked and couldn't find any options for display?

It is in your user settings, you must have the box below ticked :)

Choose "profile" then "account settings" then "look and layout"

Plus, it doesn’t help when when someone posts an additional ten lines of useless drivel
after  each post.

As far as I'm concerned, another PITA is someone posts to a thread that hasn't been looked at for 8 or 9 years and then it pops up like a new thread until one notices the dates of the first replies. mw~ mw~ mw~

    Hi Larry;
  You know there is a setting for not showing signatures?  Check that box and it blocks the additional ten lines of useless drivel y1 y1

Why is that a problem?
Many things that were relevant 9 years ago are still relevant. (Not saying that I was relevant 9 years ago, or am now.)
I built a Blue Pants as a kid. Wish I still had it. Might even learn to fly it.
