There is just something un-natural about all this.
What size lines? Cable from an old suspension bridge?
Dan and Ted use .027 braided lines.
Early on the Flight Streak used a three line bellcrank. On the first flights the throttle kept sticking wide open. They found the lines were stretching in flight pulling the third line tight. Easy fix, just add an extra line clip to compensate for the stretch. On the next flight the throttle stuck wide open again..... Another line clip and the third line was now dragging on the grass and had to be pulled tight for takeoff with the free hand. Wide open again..... I forget the final length needed to get the throttle to work properly, but it was around 6"! This is when they were using .021 lines.
Because of the three line issues they went to an electronic throttle (insulated lines) with .027 cable and later the Z-Tron throttle they use now.
