I got lucky this year at Brodak and had the opportunity to be nearby with my trusty ole cam corder when Dan flew his super sized Bi-Slob.

Frank,
Great to see you again and good job on the video! Maybe next year Dan and Ted will have all the bugs worked out. That's if they don't have something new by then. The next project is in the planing stages already. If you think the Streak and the Slob are big, this will beat them both! :o

Awesome stuff! Thanks Frank! y1

Besides being a really nice guy, Banjock provides more pure FUN than most people in this hobby.

Frank great job!!! You do a great job behind the lens.
Maybe the next Ted and Dan project will be a Spruce Goose with wheels?

I think 8 of these should pull the goose.

Or maybe something non supercharged.

There is just something un-natural about all this.
What size lines? Cable from an old suspension bridge?

Dan and Ted use .027 braided lines.
Early on the Flight Streak used a three line bellcrank. On the first flights the throttle kept sticking wide open. They found the lines were stretching in flight pulling the third line tight. Easy fix, just add an extra line clip to compensate for the stretch. On the next flight the throttle stuck wide open again..... Another line clip and the third line was now dragging on the grass and had to be pulled tight for takeoff with the free hand. Wide open again..... I forget the final length needed to get the throttle to work properly, but it was around 6"! This is when they were using .021 lines.
Because of the three line issues they went to an electronic throttle (insulated lines) with .027 cable and later the Z-Tron throttle they use now.

I thought on the 3-line throttle systems all 3 lines shared the load equally.
If thats the case they should have all streched the same and not require any compensation ???

Thankyou everyone for the great compliments on that video. That kind of stuff keeps me going. Of course if Dan hadn't built that monster Bi-Slob I'd have never had the opportunity to catch such great video.
