Stunt News (the printed version) is in the mail now. The on-line version has been up on the PAMPA website for at least two weeks. Everyone reading this is computer literate so I'm sure they have all taken advantage by now of the ability to see the latest Stunt News on-line and in color...

Stunt News was very late this time because the person who does the graphic layout (Liz Helms) had her right arm broken in two places (One break was right at the rotator) at the beginning of the layout cycle. I'm not offering a apology for the tardiness because it was totally unavoidable. There are those who are grumbling about this. To them I offer the editorship of Stunt News. If there is someone (or "someones") out there who thinks that they can do a better and more efficient job, please contact me immediately. I will put you in contact with the PAMPA Executive Council and see if we can get you assigned to the post.

I'm sure those who apply for the above mentioned job will also be those who have submitted articles or volunteered to write columns for Stunt News in the past...

Phil,

You can  just email me directly about products if you know what you are needing. I have them in my possesion and am trying to get an accurate inventory of what we have. We have alot of the plans ready to ship but there also quite a few I would have to have copies made of before I could ship them. The PAMPA Products email address is pampaproducts@hotmail.com.

To Bob, Jim and the PAMPA Executive council.  I think you guys/gals are doing a terrific job with what you have to work with.  Keep up the great work as there will always be those that will gripe, complain and whine even if you got every issue out early.

Hi Randy,

Joking is one thing when it has been made clear that the comments are tongue-in-cheek.  However, serious bitching about this subject with no offer to help do anything about it is where the problem is.  As Doc said "What's the hurry?"...  By the way Randy, I know that you made it clear that your post was "tongue-in-cheek" so you are not the problem this time (however there will be future opportunities, I'm sure... ;)).  You going to VSC next March?  Hope to see you there.

Bob,

You surely don't mean that you would be willing to give up the high-paying editor's job?  C'mon, you know you need that new Hyabusa!  Think of the hole in your shop where it used to sit, how it feels to roll it on in each gear, the landscape blurring as you approach 200 mph - oh, yeah...that would be illegal, I forgot.

Yes, Bill, that was very much with tongue placed firmly in cheek.  ;D

Bob does a great job and it is, after all, a volunteer position. It comes when it comes.

And yes, I plan to be a VSC next year. Hope the plane I left there is still in one piece.

Hi Bob

I would like to THANK you for doing a GREAT  job on PAMPAs behalf.
We all benefit from hard work such as your endeavours with SN. Since you took the helm at Editor, the newsletter has been elevated to a much higher place and is more professional than ever.
Please take my word for it that there are 100s of PAMPA members who really appreciate the JOB your doing on our behalf, You volunteer service does NOT go unappreciated and without people like you we would not have the stunt event as it is now, matter of fact I would say it would decline drastically without the efforts of the type you give up your time to and service for this event.

Regards
Randy Smith

Bob had Stunt News dropped in his lap before it was planned. He has brought the publication up another notch. I can personally tell you that there are not many people who could keep up the pace that Bob does on a daily basis.

My answer to anyone who complains, is that they should volunteer to help. It takes quite a lot of time to write just one article. Imagine the time it takes to write a column, coordinate and edit 100 pages and try to meet a deadline. It takes just one burp to hold things up.

Bobby, a big thanks for all you do!

Always worth the wait!

Little Buddy Bobby, "Iligitamus non carborundum".

I think that not as many as we would prefer, are aware that the entire issue is and has been available online for several weeks now. What you and your staff (Liz) have done is just short of a miracle. The best CL Stunt publication has just gotten better, it's unbelievable.

The on-line edition, in full color is simply the best.  H^^

Has anybody really thanked Windy U. for the period of time he was sending out what he could to keep the stunt news coming out to us .   I mean it was a mess compared to what we have today, but, we got to see what was still going on.  Thanks to Windy from DOC Holliday

Ah yes, the "Alligator" Pro Stunt years. I really enjoyed recieving "Pro Stunt News". It was the best for our event at that time. Windy's writing style, and his personality, were a great help making the early issues so readable. I used to have a complete collection going back to about '82. Sorry I lost them all in a move a few years ago.

Wouldn't it be great if eventually all that history, and information, was all collected and available on a CD?

As a past editor of a club newsletter, and realizing what that took for a simple newsletter, I woulod like to send my appreciative gratitude to all who have taken on this labor for us.

Thanks folks.

The download has been available for weeks! I printed mine as always, in full duplex color off my laser and even had it at the NAT's to flash around. (I like it this way, even better than the printed pub)
Come'on y'all, get with the times.

Those waiting on snail mail do get a nice printed copy also, but have to wait the extra couple weeks. So be it. But... that doesn't have to stop them from going to PAMPA's web site if they want to start reading it when posted. Any member can go download it, even if you subscribed to the snail mail version. If you can figure out how to join this forum and post, you surely can download and read a PDF...

Jeez, as fully expected, I certainly got an over-reaction on this one. I am completely aware of the fact that Stunt News is a volunteer run publication. I do sincerely thank everyone involved in putting it out, and I have also expressed those thanks in the past. However, if there is going to be a known delay with the hard copy mailing, would it be too much to ask for someone involved to just toss a mention on the forum here? I only ask because I do anxiously await each issue, because yes, it is a great publication and has gotten better with the recent changes.

 Thanks to all, again.  H^^
