Title: Stunt News
Post by: Gerald Arana on September 04, 2018, 04:26:59 PM
I don't mean to complain but, has anybody else got their 2018 Issue 2 news letter with TWO BLANK pages in it?  ???

AFAIC, you can skip a month or two to get enough data for a decent, i.e., (big enough to make it worthwhile to print) news letter.

Just checking, Jerry

You could call Chris Rudd and tell him you are volunteering to help...

Those were the two pages reserved for your submission.

Doesn't seem to help.  I've been trying to get him to respond to my request to discuss contest reports.  All I got was a response that said they might not fit.

Paul, Wayne....

Well guys, if I had an interesting article, method, flying experience, building session or something of interest to the rest of the Stunt community, I'd surely write it..... HB~>  But at 78 I'm still learning from you guys!

OBTW; I was wrong about the two blank pages. I decided to continue reading it and found "FOUR" blank pages!  I guess there we a couple page for you guys to submit articles too! n~

Tight lines, Jerry

HI All,

There wasn't supposed to be two blank pages... Please tell me where in the issue they are. I haven't gotten mine yet...

Hi Chris, They were pages 12-13 and 22-23. I'm wondering if I just got a misprint?! Guess I'll have to ask.

OBTW Paul, I loved your article on the P-47 build.

Cheers, Jerry

Jerry,

You should keep it and it will be worth a lot of money in a few years....  ;D Do you want me to try and send you a new one?

PM your address and I will see what I can do.

After working 20 years in the commercial printing business, this is the kind of thing that the publishers (Chris and the gang) have no control over, once they turn over the files for printing and binding. Like anything else, some printers and binders are better than others. You can not, though, inspect every magazine as it comes off the machines. In this case, some one began saving the signatures too soon as they came off the press/folder. Then, when it was bound, the bad signatures were not caught and removed. It's all a numbers game and the printer will do what he has to do to hit his numbers. I get the daily newspaper with mistakes all the time and I call them with complaints on exactly this same issue. The printing industry has shrunk quite a bit and like a lot of businesses, have trouble keeping and finding good workers. The last issue I got was not bound like it should have been, but I can deal with that. If problems persist and get worse they may have to look elsewhere for a printer that can do a better job. It's not Chris' fault.
  Type at you later,

Another thought is maybe it's a "free bonus" issue, the blank pages meant to be torn out and used for mixing epoxy.  ;D

Last year I was re-instated into PAMPA. So far I haven't gotten any SN for 2018. Not a big deal as I have been too busy to care.
