Stunt .25 at Fun Day
« on: January 05, 2012, 08:32:46 PM »
To all those in the CA area that plan to attend the (formerly WAM) Fun Day contest in May, be advised that the new "Stunt .25" event will be flown! If you're on the regular mailing list for Nor-Cal contests you will get a contest flyer, pre-entry form, and a copy of the Stunt 25 rules. A lot of you guys have already read the rules as posted here http://stunthanger.com/smf/index.php?topic=23787.0 and nothing has been changed.
Of course Classic, Old Time, and PAMPA classes will all be included as well. Plan on being there for the start of the contest season!

FWIW I think a .25 Stunt class in general is a great idea, cheap and lots of fun. y1

As I said in the other thread that is referred to above, the .25 event could be a winner. Lower key and less expensive. I also feel that this is a better size than going much smaller. Flaps have been added to the initial proposed rules. There are several airplanes that could be used for OTS; .25; Classic and Pampa classes. Very good for Intermediates in particular. The Still Stuka covers all of the events, Mackey's Bluebird is good for Classic and up. (I'm not sure if is OTS eligible)

Allowing new design and possible downsizing of current designs opens up a new world. As I said before I had an early Fox .25 in an airplane at the '61 Willow Grove Nats. I could reprise that airplane or use a new design. Even my "Hobo" could use a .25.

Well the Fun Day Contest is a little far for the old DOC.

Tom, the Futura looks neat,  is there plans or a kit of it? H^^

Doc,
I still have my original pencil drawings of the "Futura", but no plans to kit it, or make a permanent drawing at this time. It certainly would be Classic legal.

Hey Clint; how about some time/date/place info. I looked on several calendars and didn't see it listed . . . actually, didn't find any contests listed for 2012.

Thanks,

Brian

Hi Clint:

I've got a Sakitumi 25 started. I think it will be the first one flying unless Eliott beats me to the punch. LA25 or maybe FP20.

Why did you change your screen name? Took me a while to figure out it was you.

It has been allowed now for some strange reason (something to do with Aviojet) , so this is sort of a weak protest to illustrate it isn’t right.

Hi Eliott,

Since your real name is in your account, you can use a screen name.  That has never changed.  I believe many do not understand that you do not have to post using your real name, but your account name must be real.  That information is only available to certain Admin.

I do not want to belabor this issue but many people were under the impression that this forum required one to use their actual name on the posts. I have also noticed that many regular posters who use fictitious names have their actual names at the bottom of their posts. It enhances their credability. This use of actual names is one of the things that is unique about this site and greatly adds to its appeal. Even now, most prefer posting with their actual identity although due to what has transpired recently I forsee this changing. Just saying.  WARNING: Thread Drift!...OK, I'll probably build a Shark 402 for the .25 contest. (that was close!) ::)
