Family fun at Bennett air field for the new years weekend!
« on: January 04, 2016, 10:54:54 PM »
Hey everyone. We had a great time in las Vegas at Bennett airfield over the holiday weekend. Got the kids out practicing 1/2A proto speed. Got Kristina up on her first official solo. She took off, flew and landed the RM+P. Kit by Pat Johnston, os26fs for power. The kids were flying a SIG dewey bird with a cox babe bee.

Here's the triplane on the runway after a flight. Sorry, still no video of a flight yet. I can't get someone to shoot videos on days I'm out there! Lol

And of course, what holiday would be complete without a hilarious series of photos describing an incident! My friend Darryl's son was flying his glider in what seemed to be a safe location... The first pic is what we saw after the Monokote ripping "thud". The second pic shows the priceless look on the boys face after he saw his dad's face! And the third is me trying not to laugh as Darryl tells his son to apologize to me for damaging the wing.
It was awesome, this kid shook my hand and asked if i forgive him! What a great group of guys we fly with!

Thanks guys!
Christ, Alan was out there. I told him about what you had going on. I'll bring my laptop to the next meeting to show him all the pics. Him and a friend Glen were flying vintage pattern planes on Saturday. It was pretty fun out there

Dane,
Good videos. How did you keep a straight face with that glider sticking in the wing?  LL~

Poor young man looks like he is going to be tarred an feathered.   But, that is an easy fix.

Pat, omg it was so funny! I was hiding my face behind our friend Kevin because i couldn't stop laughing for a minute!

Doc, the best part is... I was already going to recover that wing! Lol. Everyone knew, but when it happened, that poor boy got nervous! He was a real little gentleman about it though. I added some tape and we still flew it twice more

Thanks Dane.  Al, my twin brother and me grew up together during Jr. High and High School.  Lots of good times!
