Some light within the chaos
« on: October 11, 2024, 08:18:51 AM »
Hurricane Helene has caused a lot of chaos here in Asheville, NC. Last night there was some light and it brings hope. Yesterday the bypass water line was reconnected to the North Fork Reservoir treatment plant. They are working to clarify the reservoir by treating it to settle out the dirty that was churred up by the storm (they described the normally crystal-clear lake as "chocolate milk"). Once that is done they can start to repressurizing the system and repair distribution line leaks. There is a flicker of light at the end of a long tunnel.

Don't know if localgovernment said it or not, boil your water for your use or use bottled water.  I am still remembering the shots we had to get after the 1951 flood of the Kansas City's.  Also boiling water before use. S?P
