I got one of Byron's first.  I have abused it over the years, but it still works as great as the day I got it!  he HAS made a few *improvements* over the years, but the design has not changed.  it didn't need to! ;D

I have one and it is great. Looks to me like you are using Bicycle shifting cables for your leadouts. Am I right? Thats what I use. y1 y1 y1 HB~>

No.  I purchased the leadouts from a hobby supplier.   Either Tom Morrison or Brodaks.    They have a  nice silky smooth feel.  One day I will go down there and tie off the other one.

I paid $75.00 at Brodak 2007.  But I think the regular price is $85.00.   Once you pluck the money down,  (I am about as tight as anyone with a buck)  you will kill yourself for not getting it years ago.

Right now I am using it for sanding, fitting up the cowl and landing gear, wrapping leadouts, ect.  I rotate the model to the desired position and lock it in place and go to work. Zero hanger rash.

I actually broke the verticle stab off my Bearcat while applying the final coats of paint. That was what made me buy one at any cost.

Great color choices and graphics. What did you do for lettering/numbers?
I have never seen one of these stands in person. How does the plane attach to the stand?
Terry.

For the lettering/numbers, A fellow club member has a ''sticka'' machine that cuts vinyl paint masks. As for the colors they are brodak grumman green, cruiser orange, and dianna cream.

This was was my first real built up fuse. stunt ship but soon this will become my backup ship for the nats in 08. On my first flight i knew it was the best plane i ever flew so i purchased another set of sv-22 cores.

P.S. This is the second plane i ever finished and i call it a ten foot plane, She only looks good from ten feet away lol

Yes Mr.Barker provides you with 2 aluminium plates that you must drill out to match engine mount holes.

This is how to get them, and the only way that I know of. Byron is basically CF Slattery.  It is a machine and fabrication shop and Byron makes a ton of things (plus reworks engines) for model airplanes.

I found great for any further work on the plane after you have installed the wing and stab in the fuse.
I wouldn,t be without it ,or my Rabe stand for work on the ship after the plane is finished and needs
maintenance on the field , or at home.
You can build a Rabe stand in about 30 minutes, for under fifteen dollars. :)!

I was just looking at the PBY Catalina Stunter thread, and was wondering if there was a twin engine adapter to the CF Slattery Paint Stand? Any ideas how to hang a twin on one?  n~ LL~ VD~ Steve

Chris  I don,t have a picture at this time.
Maybe Al Rabe  will come to the rescue and show one.
He has /is very generous about sharing his info with others.
There was an article on the building of it in Stunt News ,a while back 2-3 yrs.?(can,t remember).
If you can,t find it, E Mail me and we will work something out.
I think everyone should have one    y1

I think the paint stand is a slick deal. Probably why I made my own. A couple of them in fact.
