Sky Writer

     Here is a picture of my Sky Writer. I found the picture yesterday when I visited our only viable hobby shop (R-C of course). He had it on his bulletin board of pictures. Being of Chinese origin in design, I tried to go that way on the paint scheme to a degree, with green and bamboo leaves in no particular order. I was sucessful in choosing a beautiful female to hold it. She is my daughter who is now seven. You may have to play with the picture on sizing and rotation to view it. I apologize. Her birthday is coming up on the 30th and I have gotten her a Baby Flite-Streak we will build together. The first plane I did after returning to this hobby was one of Randy's  "Intrepid's", but she asked me to name it after her. "Miss Xiao Ling". Ok guys, that is the last of the four models that I kit.

     Just a side note: I am the only guy in this city who flies CL and the NATS were held here at one time. Maybe a Baby Flight-Streak will change the world.

A great airplane, the best I've ever seen.  It takes apart into about a dozen bits and fits into a small stachel.

I finally got the picture to download and that is a very pretty young lady.  I have attended every one of the Lake Charles NATS.  The last one, several people were lost due to the heat and humidity.  I wonder if the tar pits are still at the racing circle.  Also there used to be a terriffic steak house that served the best cat fish stew.  It really tasted like steak stew to me.  Remember not to yell at that pretty little girl when she tries flying.  I learned the hard way, that is to get someone else in the center of the circle with her.  By the way there ought to be some CL'rs down your way.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday

The plane looks great.  I'm sure that little girl of yours will really like the 1/2A plane!  She's always a nice addition to the pictures.   Kinda reminds me of Bob Whitley's FM cover shot of the Miss Kell!

No doubt it's loaded with lead, hense the great finish.

As long as he doesn't sell it retail for household use, he's OK in the USA.  Having lead is not a crime, but selling it on children's toys is.  Thus far, to my knowledge, it hasn't penetrated the frontier.

     Let me start off by saying that Bill has a great family photo posted.

     I have met some really great people in the 150 mile radius of Lake Charles that do fly CL. I'll start by dropping the name Don Still, whose hobby shop in Beaumont,TX is ledgendary. There is a fly-in over in Orange, TX once a year that I attend and that is where I met Gil Causey out of Baton Rouge. Now that things are starting to settle down after all of the hurricane mess, I am going to try and fly and meet more of the guys out of Baton Rouge. Another good friend is Stephen Hollier who is also a Texas native and quite good flyer.

     The real expert on the Sky Writer is Kim Doherty. He is close friends with Zhang and was the person responsible for showing me how to make contact with him in the first place. I have a copy of Zhang's original take-a-part plans and they are unbelievable!

     No lead on my planes! It's mostly located in my butt.
