Broome Park flying in Flint Thursday
« on: October 26, 2012, 07:30:53 AM »
I went up to Broome Park in Flint yesterday.  The field is in great shape.  The speed circle is patched up & there are two nicely cut grass circles with concrete centers.  I first flew there in the BIG 1962 Balsa Termites contest.  The trains still come rumbling through on the same schedule.  Maybe even the same trains.

Dan, Jay, George, and Jamie were out as usual.  Late October in Michgian: high 77, low 62, and sunny.  Winds a steady 22 with gusts to 32 MPH.  Everybody got in a few flights and most took some losses.  We waited until almost dark to try to run the Perky, but the wind never quit so we flew it anyway.  Better than Monday in Sterling Heights with Bob & Keith.  I solved some of the problems but created a new mystery.  It went fast, but something kept in from going the whole 16 laps.  Good news: no crash in about six attempts despite the wind.

It was lovely here in the Seattle area...windy, cold and rainy. Probably better than Florida and Georgia about now? You guys keep your heads down and ears open for hurricane news.   :!  Steve
