Samuels New Fleet Maiden Flights Today
« on: October 02, 2016, 04:53:57 PM »
2 Rugged Stunt Trainers and a Streak 2000 all from Phil Cartier's Corehouse got their maiden flights today. Sam put up a total of 17 flights on all 3 planes.  I don't know who is more worn out, him from flying or me from pitting. His flying was excellent with no mishaps and some dandy landings. I couldn't be more proud. We are so looking forward to Huntersville in 2 weeks. Thank you Tim Lackey for generously giving Sam the Streak kit. Also a shout out to Ken Cook for the fine K&B .28. Its nice he has 2 identical planes with the same engine set-up.

He looks great with the fleet.  By all means get a picture into the AMA.   We may be looking at a future NATS stunt champion.

Yeah well, you Combat guys can just about take a nap and fly a Stunt pattern at the same time.

Hey, at 1/2A day last weekend I flew my Gladiator behind my back for a pretty good while. No video, but Will will testify he saw it. Wayne insists it was an accident. Not bad for a stunt guy, eh.
See you and Sam soon,

Hey, he is young, let him learn the pattern.  It will help his combat flying also.   Besides some people think I fly stunt because I'm to old for combat.  Hopefully after next weekend I will have a group photo of my combat fleet.

I was just pullin your leg Doc. I hope Sam will get into combat but if his interest is stunt, scale, speed or carrier that's just fine by me. As long as he is flying CL y1 y1

Well my son has NATS trophies from racing and carrier.   He tried combat a couple of times.  Last time he flew stunt pattern after he landed, he told me not to enter him in stunt again.   He likes the high speeds of racing and carrier.  Oh, he has flown 1/2A Proto speed at the NATS as a Junior.

Lookin' good.  John, your story about your son entertains me, because I just can't get excited if it's all just level flight, no matter how fast.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Mike and Sam! good looking fleet

Just today my new RST kit arrived with second set of wing cores
Currently flitting through my wood stock to duplicate the Fuse and stuff

I plan two- non bashed RSTs- one for a OS 25 FP and Maybe one a Evo .36 NIB

Each foam wing plane I build from Phil, or others, gets better and better with the filling and covering as I learn from mistakes of my local wX conditions

I would love to meet You and Sam some day

COMBAT... I get IT!

If not done already Have pat Johnston send you two Nemesis Kits...the best there are

Have Sam play with one Nemesis on a OS 25 and then grab the one with YOUR New Nelson N36c...I bet he can fly ahead of it...not like me, .5 seconds behind the plane at ALL times

Like you, I infected my 35 year old son but he is busy being an adult with family and bills...he prefers the sedate stunt flying
I also have 7 Year old Jackson (grandson)  infected, ) he loves the wicked fast 1/2a combat planes, but I have to share with the OTHER grandparents....grrrr
