Salem Drowned Rat Contest
« on: October 06, 2007, 12:22:41 AM »
Well, it's actually called the Salem Fall Follies, but it's likely to be the drowned rat contest, based on the weather report. Been nice if we would have had summer here. Oh well, we'll have fun anyway. Most are already there. I leave in the morning.

The weather man told me to stay home this weekend.  I normally like to attend this contest but with the weather report I decided not invest a couple of hundred buck weekend travel vacation. I figured I could do things at home versus possibly sitting in the car all day watching the ducks swim around the asphalt circle

Good choice, no water but plenty of wind. Circle was not flyer friendly. Even Paul Walker had to do a few things different. %^@ %^@ %^@ HB~>

Yea, not the Drowned Rat contest after all, but it was certainly the Wind Tunnel. Man, that 20+ mph wind coming over those trees made life interesting. I just left the plane in the car and watched some brave souls risking their pretty ships over the pavement. It was, uh, interesting.

For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!

Ya, after taking the garbage out this morning it looked an awful lot like winter. Work shop kind of weather. I also have a friend that is going to build a Grinder. HB~> HB~> HB~>

Actually, even though it was interesting to see my AMA #'s frequently during my one attempt, I had as much fun as I have ever had at Salem! I didn't even have the radio on during the 6 hour drive back home, all I did was remember all the laughs, thoughts, and learning that came my way.
