RSM Pathfinder lives
« on: March 11, 2021, 12:15:38 AM »
Some of you may remember back when I started this model. It was back around 2008 or so. (Talk about long term!!!) Anyway after three moves it had accumulated almost as much damage as if it had crashed, I was seriously considering trashing the whole thing but John Miller persisted and talked me out of it so I have repaired most of the damage and I am back to completing the model. The airframe is pretty much done, just have to attach the elevators, flaps and rudder, then fill in all of the dings dents and final sanding. By some miracle it had not gained much weight and everything is still straight. So as a break from repairs I started to do the cockpit detail which in the case of this kit can be assembled seperate from the kit and sort of plugged in after everything else is done. In the photos It is just dropped into the space the kit allows for cockpit detail. It is about 70% finished. I find that doing the detail work was a nice break from fixing ribs cracks in the fuse and other damage, which was stressful and the cockpit detail construction I find was very relaxing. The canopy will be tinted I just have not decided on the color.

Test fitting additional cockpit detail. Just about done fabricating all of the bits.
