Request for Flying Site Photos

I could use some photos of flying sites for promotional purposes with local govt agencies. Landfill site photos would be especially useful but all are welcome. If you have a photo of your field that you are proud of, please post it for others and myself to see and use. Feel free to comment on the sites better features.
Additionally, other promotional material espousing the benefits of CL modeling are also welcome and needed.. Send that to me directly so this thread is mostly photos. Be advised I may use part or all of the material for promotional purposes to obtain flying sites but I will give credit to the source.  P.S I have the AMA package so don't send me articles from that.

Sorry,  no photos.. but I have a video clip of a flying field that was built for CL in the mid 70s, and its mainly used for R/C planes & Heli nowadays.

Here is the satellite map address for Omaha's site at Seymore Smith Park, 72nd and Washington:



The large black "donut" is the main circle with a paved runway. The 2 small white dots are paved centers for grass circles. The white line is a bike & walking trail that went in many years after the C/L site, without consulting the local club. It renders the far east grass circle useless, except for 1/2A.

Land for this site was set aside in the late 1970s. It took nearly 10 years of "lobbying" by local club members before funds were budgeted to pave the main circle and build the access road. Vince Mankowski (a former Executive Director of the AMA) was District IX VP at the time and provided the final "push" to get it done.

I have ground level photos of the site, but I have no idea how to post pictures on the forums. We are having a contest there Sunday September 21. The weather is suppose to be good all day.

You may want to Google up the Wichita Kansas site. It's another good one.

The Balsa Beavers Model Flying Club enjoys the use of the only specifically
constructed Control Line flying site in the Metropolitan Toronto area. This
dedicated flying site is nestled in Toronto's Centennial Park, and consists
of one paved circle with a grass infield ring and two grass circles with paved
centres. There are family Picnic areas nearby, Soccer fields, Baseball
diamonds, a Go-Kart track, a Greenhouse and much more. There is also
ample parking and both portable and running water Bathroom facilities. 
Fast food and Coffee shops are within minutes of the field. If a day at the
park with the family is what you are seeking, you can combine your flying
with the numerous other activities supported within the park.

I have some I recently took at the Delta Park - Jim Walker Memorial Control Line Field in Portland. I can reduce them to post on here, but if you want better detail I can send you the originals, these would be better for a presentation.

The club parks have porta pottys, shelter for shade. Delta park has no facilities but it still a nice park. Brodaks does not have facilities until the fly in I assume.... Then it is full service. Food, pottys, and more fun then should be allowed.

There is a circle missing on the Brodak photo. The one where Advanced fly along with the JunkYard Wars and fun stuff at the end of the day.

Mainly pointed this out to qualify for the drawing tonite

This is a private field but you could say that the lake is a retention pond.  ::)

He keeps one hand on the ground and his handle and his lines as close to the ground as defined by the F2C panel of judges until the model aircraft starts again.

Randy, I don't have a date, I'm waiting for their response. My proposal was brought up for review at a mtg with the EPA, the landfill mgmt and the Board of Health,  they decided to study it some more then meet again. This could be a slow process. If they say no I have alternate proposals for other Superfund sites.  So I could keep myself and them busy for awhile.

That field is in Ocklawaha, Fl. about 20 miles east of Ocala. Yes, it did start life as a multipurpose field, but a tennis ball has never hit the surface. The circle is setup up for racing, speed with pylon, and stunt. The combat, carrier circle is in the front of the property. The grass is just starting to fully cover the circle. We do let a few with RC models use the either field on occassion. Most of the time it is strictly a CL field.
