Ready to fly.
« on: April 13, 2016, 09:00:10 AM »
The Sig Fazer is a dual purpose model. R/C and c/l designed by Mike Pratt. I took his advise and made a few changes and yesterday hosed it down with Krylon and some Rustoleum with the hopes of test flying today. It's raining. I put an OS .40LA with an APC 11 x 4 and a Fox .35 muffler. The landing gear is from a Primary Force. Weight is 49 ounces and the c/g is 4 inches behind the leading edge as the r/c version is 5 inches behind. Monokote on the flying surfaces.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.
I wouldn't take her to a dog fight even if she had a chance to win.

 Nice! y1

That's about the best looking C/L Fazer I've seen, I like the addition of the wingtips too. What other kind of "changes" did you make?

I used a set of shortened Primary Force landing gear, The vertical fin/rudder is smaller, the flaps are 1/4 sheet and 2/3 less area, 3/8 nose tripler, tip weight box and leadout slider, Du-Bro pinned hinges and carbon tube push rod. The fuselage has large holes in the rear section and I added another above the wing then sheeted the fuse. with 1/64 ply.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

All good moves I'd say. y1  Any reason you didn't just use the Fazer L/G?

I've had a Fazer wing kit on my shelf for years, this one kind of gets me thinking about it again... ;D

The Fazer gear is larger and heavier.
