Rare bird NOVETTE
« on: May 07, 2018, 12:06:33 PM »
going through my old picturs found this one
i have built this model around 1992 from plans, it´s called Novette, Norm Dion,1968 design
never seen another one and lost track of plans and the model when i moved
sylkspan covered and lacquer finish, (lack of) power by Fox 35!
flapless design and a decent "weekend" flyer, no fancy stunt but surely atracted a lot of attention
anyone else had build or seen this one?

Fred, that is one neat aircraft. I like to build unusual designs and the Novette is on my "to do" list. I have the FM magazine with the article. Maybe one day? You must have had an anemic Fox .35 as it should be adequate power, especially for sport flying.

hello Dennis go for her, easy build! i have made  dummy "air intake" to hide the fuel tank
my fox was tired and the balsa was heavy back then!
would you mind to share the plans picture? i had the original plan but lost it years ago!

A reduced-scale copy of the plan is shown below.  The ribs marked with an "X" are questionable reconstructions as the originals were very faint.

Hi Fred,
I understand what attracted you to this model, it’s way cool!!  For the most part it would be a fun model to build and fly.  I would make a few changes and update the construction of the Novette but that’s just me lol.  Looking forward to see your progress on this one.

Mikey
