Fox made a few of these special for people that needed a lot of out-thrust, but still wanted effective cooling.  This is the version for inverted use, or for an upright engine on a clockwise plane.

I thought you knew!

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

That's to improve line tension when you don't have enough offset in the rudder, its also reported to minimize the burp on a profile ! <=

I've bought several engines with heads rotated like that on the bay including a very nice Super Cyclone recently.   Since the modeller who owned the motor would never do this I have figured its the goofball selling the estates trying to put a box of parts back together for sale.  Those I've got this way have all turned out OK though.

It WILL run in that condition. Believe me. You can rorate the head in any of the six possible positions and the thing will still run.  The baffle on the piston will not hit the head.

I saw this one on Ebay a few years ago and, as the only bidder, for $10 it was mine. Stripped it and cleaned off the brushed on enamel paint. On the test stand it started first flick and ran as well as my other 40 VF's :). I'm guessing that even if the seller had tried to run it then he never got it to start considering the little dot of insulating paint on top of the glow plug post.

Really? I wondered about that. It's surprising how many you see like that, so I knew they would turn over.

I guess mine were of a different breed.  If I didn't get the head lined up with the baffle I could not turn it through.
